Kosse has also had the infamous, in the person of gunslinger John Wesley Hardin, who once killed a man in a downtown hotel of the time. This is the famous Bob Wills' birthplace, who bought "Texas Swing" to popular and country music. Admissions are not free as they donate the proceeds of the events held here to local non-profits, including the Kosse Community Center, the Kosse Heritage Society, the Kosse Volunteer Fire Department, the Kosse Lions Club, and various community projects around Kosse.
